Doncaster College
The first Jeff Cooper Award was presented to Doncaster College in February 2015.
They have a number of ‘gems’
- a story-time for the student crèche which the children love
- involvement in the Children’s University giving a flavour of college life to young people in advance of coming to college
- a Six Book Challenge Blog connecting students and staff
- a tailored study skills programme where it is clearly recognised that a one size fits all approach would not fit individual needs
- an extraordinary level of collaboration between subject librarians and curriculum staff
The service at Doncaster is clearly an indispensable support to staff and most importantly to the students. With all of these strategies and actions in mind it was a pleasure to present the award to Doncaster. Well done to the whole team!
