First prize

RNN Group for its exceptional and comprehensive information skills scheme of work, clearly demonstrating impact with good evidence of a flexible and innovative approach.

Second prize

Northampton College for its word detective literacy support scheme; simple and effective, putting the library at the heart of the college’s learning activity.

Third prize

There are two joint third prizes:

  • City of Liverpool College for demonstrating how a VLE at the heart of the institution can be used with great effect to showcase LRC resources and to respond to the needs of different students.
     
  • Grwp Llandrillo Menai for delivering study skills sessions that show the beneficial impact of a collaborative strategy to coordinate planning and delivery across a multi-site college.

Commendations

The following colleges were commended for the high standard of their entries:

  • Guildford College Group: iSkills – reaching the students other LRC sessions do not reach
     
  • Hillcroft College for all three of their entries: Health e-resources for happy students and staff; Marketing digital skills; Single sign-on
     
  • Isle of Wight College: “When in doubt go to the library”: using Harry Potter to bring primary schools into FE
     
  • Lakes College West Cumbria: Reader development – taking the library to the classroom with Reading Ahead.
